MM3-WebAssistant

Surf Mode

Offline alt

In the offline mode all locally available pages of the cache archive you can request with its URL.

Online alt

Online mode corresponds with normal browsing but available files in the cache archive can be re-used.

The re-use can be adjusted variously at HTML files alt and other resources alt e.g. pictures.

  • Never new request
Files available locally will never be requested again from the Internet newly.
  • Time period of the reuse
The locally available files are used in the adjusted time period.

The optimal setting depends on the application. With a daily newspaper time of expiry should not be set to more than one day, for example 12 hours. This has in general proved to be a favorable setting.

  • Always new request
In this mode the respective files are always requested as new from the Internet.

A server isn't reachable and the called file locally availably, so will be used the local file. This corresponds to the setting never new for the re-use.

The classification carried out at the Private edition only with file extension (e.g. *.html). This however often isn't concurring to usual standards. The Professional edition utilizes the transmitted file type (MIME type) by the server and save for further processing. At the Private edition there are reductions at all functions due to the simpler treatment.

Reload alt

Files are always requested newly by the server at activity of the browser button reload. This corresponds to the setting always new for the re-use.

Session alt

To identify users, some providers use temporary session identifiers in the URL. If a archive is used, these sites can therefore not be used to full extent. In simple cases MM3WebAssistant recognises this and delete the session identifier. For this, activate the field Session alt.

MM3WebAssistant Professional: Further session filters can be configured.

Filter alt

Resources not relevant to you can be filtered to avoid unnecessary costs for data transmission and hard disk space. For this function activate the filter. The relevant parameters can be set under Options/Filter.

Frett alt

Starting from the HTML site currently visible, the Frett traces additional links to be able to offer them from the cache when further browsing is executed. Under Options/Frett you can specify the resources to be traced. The depth of the links to be traced can be set and a forecast over the files still to be loaded is reported.

Meaning of the depth:

Forecast of the files still to be loaded:

If the depth of Frett is larger than 1, the number of files to be loaded cannot be predicted. In some cases, a large amount of files may be loaded automatically. If files to be loaded too many are prognosticated, the loading up event can be canceled by pressing the reset button Frett alt.

Should you wish to archive an entire offer starting from an URL, use Options/Mirror.

Options alt

Dialog to set the base options, such as language.
