What is Kid Paint Album

Kid Paint Album is a free and simple desktop extension to the Kid Paint program for Palm powered handhelds. For now KPA is only available for Microsoft Windows^®.

This application has been requested Kid Paint customers - parents, willing to save the drawings of their kids. This is exactly and all that Kid Paint Album does: quick and easy export of last edited images on the handheld to a popular image format for desktop editing.

How to export

1. You first need to get the latest files moved from the handheld to the desktop; in order to do so, attach the PDA to its cradle or cable and synchronize it with the desktop as you would do in any other case. In other words, do a single Hotsync^®.

2. Run Kid Paint album and if necessary, select the user account from the drop-down list under the "Current user" label. A list of saved pictures should appear in the box underneath. You can click on each picture's title to see it on the left.

3. To export the currently selected picture, click the second button from the tool bar or the "Save" command from the menu.

4. To export all images at once, click the fourth button on the toolbar or select the "Export All" menu command.

Note: When performing quick save through step 3 or 4, the program will automatically assign output folder and file name; the output folder is the same folder where the program itself is located when exporting a single picture. When exporting all images at once (step 4) they are stored in a folder with the same name as the currently selected user account. This folder is located where the program itself is.
In both cases the uniqueness of the output file name is guaranteed by appending an increasing integer number to the file name.

As a free add-on to Kid Paint, the first version of Kid Paint Album was never designed to be a sophisticated and fool proof  application.
However, one never knows how an application might develop and it might be wise to take a look if a more recent version, whether free or commercial, has not already been released.
