The Word Dispatcher

The Text'O'Mat Word Dispatcher allows, if needed, to select, sort, enrich and augment the used dictionary in order to tune your future searches.

You can reach the Word Dispatcher by the command Dispatch words from the Text'O'Mat icon located at the right end of the Windows taskbar.

Clicking on the mouse right button since the cursor is on the icon, you have access to the menu of the different Text'O'Mat modules.

Then appears the Text'O'Mat Word Dispatcher interface.

Two alphabetic lists of words are displayed:

  • Retained word means: word already kept as useful for the searches. Each word crossed by the disk analyzer is sorted out. If it doesn't belong to the list of the discarded word (see below), it is considered as to be retained (or already is) and added to this list. When you try to reach a word (= to search for a retained word), Text'O'Mat finds in the list of the analyzed documents, the document(s) containing this term.
  • Discarded word means: word already sorted as useless for searches. During the Text'O'Mat analysis, each word from this list coming across, is discarded. As a matter of fact, you have not to use them in a query since Text'O'Mat is not able to find the documents where they are in.

The word dispatching itself is processed by using the buttons located below each list.

moves one or some words from the retained word list to the discarded word list. In this way, each time the disk analyzer crosses one of these terms in a document, it doesn't remember it anymore. So does the Text'O'Mat Find Documents which will not be able to find any document containing its term.

moves one or some words from the discarded word list to the retained word list. From this moment, each time the disks analyzer crosses one of these terms in a document, it will remember its position. However, the research of this term cannot be proceed at once after the Retain operation. In fact the Text'O'Mat Find Documents module will not find the corresponding document because it was a discarded word. Thus the analyzer did remember its position. That's why the Word dispatcher suggests you to reanalyze all the documents after the retain operation.
