Troubleshooting

* Troubleshooting

As this is an Beta version, there are a few bugs.

If you are having problems with using Jo Mail. Try the following (this will basically start you over and erase all your email):

  1. Go to the JoMail folder
  2. Look for a file named Clean.bat
  3. Double click on Clean.bat
  4. Close the annoying black window
This should erase any damaged files and allow you to start over.

When retrieving mail, and nothing happens for a long time, try and press the Get Mail button again. Again, there are a few bugs.

If you are still unable to retrieve mail, please send us an email with your service name and we will check your service for useability as soon as possible.

Advanced

* Advanced

Jo Mail is written in the Java(tm) programming language which requires the JRE (Java Runtime Environment) to run. If you already have the JRE on your computer, there is no need to download the JRE again. At the Jo Mail website (www.jomail.net), there is a download option which will allow you to download Jo Mail without the JRE. This version is preferred and is considerably smaller (.5 Megabytes compared to 6.2 Megabytes).

The JRE is provided (for free) from Sun Microsystems at the following address:

http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.3/jre/download-windows.html

The link above is to version 1.3 of the JRE. JoMail will run on earlier versions of the JRE. Version 1.3 has a small performance increase over version 1.2 and is therefore recommended.
