17
COUNTRY:
Lithuania, the land of basketball
TRACKER & SONG YOU CHOSE TO COVER & WHY:
I've chosen Nightrealm's "Irrelevance and Emptiness". There are several reasons. Firstly, I like that song very much; I'm not very very big fan of metal, but song like this persuades me. Generally speaking, just hear it and you'll understand. Secondly, I'm trying to track more melodious music with some orchestration and there was a good oportunity to "split" harpsichord melody to string ensemble. Thirdly, I like dark music, because there are one art of gladness and very many - of sorrow... No, I won't suicide :)
YEARS TRACKING:
The first lesson was in 1999, in spring 2000 I wrote two songs and broke with it till autumn 2002 when I at last got my own computer... what a sad story...so it would be  years officially and about 9-10 months really.
INSTRUMENTS PLAYED?:
Violin (12y), piano/keyboard (~12y too, but not professional as violin), voice (17,5y, of course :) ), kinda baroque flute (a little bit), and I'm going to learn more
FAVORITE GENRE OF MUSIC & WHY:
I tolerate almost all, except for epigonic plagiarisms and non-creative pop; I generally like instrumental music more than vocal; genres that I listen today - jazz-rock-fusion (The Mahavishnu Orchestra), minimalism (Glass, Reich), gothic metal (everything I find), DnB/jungle (with melodic influences) and other.
MOST DESPISED GENRE OF MUSIC & WHY:
As I've already said - some arts of pop music, but abroad Lithuania it's hard to find such bad music... you all are lucky men :)
FAVORITE REAL BAND & WHY:
Hard to decide... maybe not band, but artist - Rob Dougan... his music has something I want to reach in my mods - synthesis of classical music and comprehensive beat. recommend his album "Furious angels". Good metal bands are "Metallica", "Kabat" (Czech) and other.
MOST DESPISED BAND & WHY:
Oh people, you don't know this band, but for Lithuanian word "Dinamika" has become a byword... If you can imagine that word "pop" means something bad, then "Dinamika" is much worse...
FAVORITE TRACKER & WHY:
I've heard too little to make last decision, but favorite trackers are Nightrealm (of course), Badliz (not bad in orchestration, but sometimes boring), several songs like Quinone's "Dynamite" (jungle), Preditor's "Unite" (DnB/hindi) and Baseheads "Splitted Images" (jazz). I look more at the song - cool tracker can make crappy song, and the raw debutant can make only one mod, but that will be the BEST...
FAVORITE INSTRUMENT & WHY:
Organ - the instrument with inexhaustible potential; I want to track an organ piece but I know that if I want really good samples I need go to the church with a microphone... or?
DO YOU RATE/REVIEW SONGS ON METALLURKY? IF NOT, WHY?:
Not yet... I have too little time; and I've said, I'm not very big fan of metal (such big, I mean).
IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT THE SCENE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I would change the web page, because the view doesn't covers all IE window (there's the black zone on the right side). Where is LadyInBlack looking?

FRIZZLEFRIED'S THOUGHTS:  The original "Irrelevance and Emptiness" is one of Nightrealms older songs....while it certainly showed what was to come from Nightrealm,  the overall sound was a  tracked  sound when the guitars kicked in.   Some stretching is evident.  The effects and percussion/synth work was really well done,  especially considering how long Nightrealm had been tracking.   HellAngel's remake is a much different tune for sure.   First,  the synth/percussion sounds have been slightly upgraded.  Where this remake loses me is when the guitars kick in.   The guitarsound is very bad.  There is little bass evident and the sounds remain stretched from time to time.  I think HellAngel was going for some semi-technical sound,  but in my opinion, he didn't quite make it.
