TRACKER & SONG YOU CHOSE TO COVER & WHY:
Hybrido's "The Grind" from 1999.
Probably the best grindmod for me, from the scene. I really liked it when it
came out, and that havent changed since that. Actually, as doing the
re'make of the song, I noticed how great work the original song is. I had to
push for it, to get my version (musically) even somewhat punishing in comparison
to original one. Not to mention, that I am not 100% satisfied with Unbird's
vocals into this one. But especially the vocals, they were always like the icing
on the cake in the original song. Mad, lunatic, sick, you name it. No wonder
that Unbird couldn't beat Hybrido's vocals - or at least that's how I feel about
it. Still, this was overall very entertaining to cover, and the result is pretty
nice?
YEARS TRACKING:
Since 1989
INSTRUMENTS PLAYED?:
Guitar, bass
FAVORITE GENRE OF MUSIC & WHY:
Death metal, it combines the elements of
metal I like the most (doublebassdrumming, downtuned guitars, heaviness,
growling, attitude). Though, there's so many great genres.
MOST DESPISED GENRE OF MUSIC & WHY:
Nu metal. It simply annoys a lot.
FAVORITE REAL BAND & WHY:
Celtic Frost. They know no limits.

FRIZZLEFRIED'S THOUGHTS:
"The Grind" is surely one of Hybrido's more
intense songs...though Hybrido is known for intense tunes. However,
the guitarsound is very oldschool and sounds quite tracked. Aeuks attempt
manages to improve on the guitarsound, yet lose a little bit of the
brutality that makes the Hybrido original what it is. Unbirds vocals,
while a valiant attempt, don't match the shear intensity that Hybrido
brought to the table. Overall this is definitely a worthy attempt,
but in my opinion, falls short of the original...just by a SLIGHT BIT.
