MAPILab Groupware Server 1.5.3

This product is intended to be used with an office local area network and is developed according to client-server technology. MAPILab Groupware Server provides shared real-time access to shared storage and folders stored on the server, as well as means for managing access rights. The server can be controlled from any computer with the help of a special program. Administrator status can be given to one or several users – as any user can cope with the task of administrating the server.

From a cliental point of view, folders on MAPILab Groupware Server look and behave exactly the same as folders on Microsoft Exchange Server: the moment someone creates a new note in the folder, you will see it at your place.

The release notes list important information you should know prior to deploying and using MAPILab Groupware Server.

In order to function properly the product requires the following:

• Administrator privileges to configure.

Please, use the following guides to properly install MAPILab Groupware Server:

• Run setup.exe.
• Before the installation you can select features that you want to be installed. There are three features in MAPILab Groupware Server:
  • Server: provides access to shared message stores using the local area network.
  • Client: a set of extensions for Outlook that allows you to connect to the Server and work with shared stores.
  • Administrator: a special application for controlling the server. Working with Administrator requires the installation of the client part of MAPILab Groupware Server.
• Warning! During the installation the user and group database will be created. To create this database a password for a built-in user Administrator is needed. This password is typed before the installation. Remember the password. This password will be required for the first connection to MAPILab Groupware Server.

This section explains MAPILab Groupware Server usage basics.

• After the installation (see Installation Notes) you need to read the Getting started Help topic (Menu Start - All Programs - MAPILab - MAPILab Groupware Server - MAPILab Groupware Server Help).

You can always uninstall MAPILab Groupware Server using Add/Remove Programs Control Panel applet.
