Entering data |

In any time, you can enter data from the left pane of HealthWatch Home main window. When you click on the "Save and Calculate" button, the data will be saved into the database, and in the same time, HealthWatch Home will perform calculations on the data and create a report for the results. HealthWatch Home treats a set of data as a record. You can enter a new record, edit a record, save a record, and delete a record.
To
create a new record, select "Edit->Add" menu from the menu bar or
click on the "+" button on the toolbar, then enter the following
data:

First name and Last name: These data are no necessary for calculations, but they are important in saving data. HealthWatch Home groups data based on person. |
2. |
Gender and Age: Almost all calculations depend on these data. Therefore, they should be entered correctly (note: if there is no Age data, HealthWatch Home can calculate Age from Birthday and Test date). |

Race: This data will be used for the estimations of waist percentiles (only for Caucasian, African-American and Hispanic). HealthWatch Home supports the following case-insensitive enters for race: White, Caucasian, African-American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic, Native-American,Multi-racial, Unknown. |

Smoker and Treatment for Hypertension: These data are used for calculating "10-year risk of having a heart attack" for adults only. |

Test Date: HealthWatch Home calculates person's age based on this data and Birthday, and many calculations use the information of person's age |

Height and Weight: These data are used to calculate height-for-age, weight-for-age, and weight-for-height percentiles for infants, children and adolescents (2 to 20 years); and BMI for children and adults. The default units for weight and height are "pound" and "inch", respectively. If you want to use metric unit, select "Tool->Options..." menu from the main menu bar, then select "Kilogram" for weight and "Centimeter" for height. |

Head circumference: This data is used to calculate Head circumference-for-age percentile for infants only. |

Systolic BP and Diastolic BP: Blood pressure data will be used to calculate percentiles for age for children (under 17), identify metabolic syndrome and calculate 10-year risk for having a heart attack for adults. |

Fasting blood triglycerides, Total cholesterol, Blood HDL cholesterol and Fasting glucose are used to identify metabolic syndrome and calculate 10-year risk for having a heart attack for adults. |
When
you finish enter above data, click on the "Save and Calculate" button, the data
will be saved into the database, and a new report will be generated.
You
can change all above data by directly editing them on the left pane of HealthWatch Home's
main window. However, you need to click the "Save and Calculate" button to save
the changes you made. If you change data on "Personal Information",
all records of this person may be changed. For example, if you change a
person's birthday, HealthWatch Home has to recalculate all records on this person.
To
delete a record, select "Edit->Delete" menu from the main menu
bar, or select the "-" button from the toolbar.
Note: you cannot
undo the deletion!
